John Scalzi asks "Who was your teen-age crush?"
That would be Ginger Rogers. She was demure, she was gorgeous, she was a babe. Her hair was long and turned under in a page-boy style.
Barbara Stanwyck was not bad either.
I once wrote Diana Lynn a fan letter after I saw her in The Miracle of Morgan's Creek, and I got an answer!
There were plenty of stars and starlets to get a crush on in the 1930's and 1940's.

Congrats on making the top 5! Really like your journal. Hang in there with your new ears. My Poppa loves his, he does have the sneaky knack of turning them down though when he decides he is done listening to the yak yak around him, ie: mom. Someday she's gonna catch him, then I am bringing the popcorn and lawn chair and watch the show! lol
CONGRATULATIONS! ??? How do we KNOW that? Where is the award given...I guess I am just an occassional visitor to J-land, so I don't know these things!

Congratulations, Chuck ... Enjoy your week of fame !! I enjoyed reading your entries, and I loved your " all about me" description. By the way, "The Miracle of Morgan's Creek" is one of my favorite movies. It gets funnier every time I watch it. They don't make 'em like that anymore. Sometimes, I think I was born in the wrong era....everything about the 30's and 40's just seems more appealing to me. Oh, well, "bloom where you are planted", as they say !! Take care, Tina =) http://journals.aol.com/onemoretina/Ridealongwithme

Hi Chuck Ferris,
I dig your blog! Keep up the good work and have a great day!

I totaly agree! I am in love with anyone who was in movies in the 40s! Movie stars today are awful. I'd give my elbows to be able to dance with/like Fred Astair! I wish I had been born then (and preferably died or moved somewhere totaly remote before the 60s) :-)
