Stressed -- More or Less

It seems to me, from reading your journals, that we have a problem in common. We all get over-stressed from time to time without realizing it. We feel shaky, or weepy, and don't know why.

Last evening while taking my bed-time pills, I dropped the cap of the bottle, and I WEPT.  Rather, I started to weep.  I caught myself in the middle of the first sob, and straightened myself out.  "You idiot, you merely dropped a bottle cap on the floor.  Pick it up and get on with what you were doing."

Then I realized: It's the stress acting.  I've been to the doctor four times in three weeks, to the emergency room twice, in the hospital four days, and on a new regimen of pills.  The real wonder is that I haven't wept before.

   Unerstanding this has helped me.

Hey, it's a nice day and life is worth living.

Hang in there, Chuck.  I admire how well you've coped these last few weeks, with your honest blogging about what's been going on, your positive attitude (those posts were called "recover with me," not "feel sorry for me"), and your sensible approach to it all.  Sure, you've been stressed out.  It's allowed!  But you haven't wallowed; you've acknowledge your situation and your feelings, analyzed them and responded appropriately, and found ways to get on with your day, and the day after that.  Good for you!

your doing well. it could be your emotions are also adjusting to new meds so just hang in there. you're doing well. most of the time whatever makes us cry sad or mad is not the actual thing that has just happened but something else just like what you described. that's a great thing when we realize that and can quickly identify what it really is and adjust those feelings. I hope you have a great day

Sometimes it helps to cry. It`s only another emotion and we all have them. You are right though, we all get very stressed from time to time. I think these journals are a great help for many of us as a stress reliever.  I know it helps me!  Take care   Sandra x

You're so right, Chuck!  It happens to me at times, too.  Problem is, I often don't recognize til later what has happened.  Blessings, Penny

Yes life is worth living. John and I have a good laugh often about the things we can't do anymore. I tell him we have to laugh to keep from crying although crying is okay. Paula

stress is a terrible thing and hurts our bodies in many ways.  think of something funny when you feel stressed out.  or better yet think of someone funny.  i used to get stressed out all the time and then i got really sick. now i try real hard not to stress out.  just think of how fun it was when you did that thing you sent me the picture of.  that should help you out a bit.  REMEMBER CHUCK?
