Avocadoholic

Although avocados are back up to $1.69, I bought one. ONE. I put it on the kitchen sink sideboard. Just to taunt myself. I see it often during the day. In my minds’ eye, I see it moving itself around to catch the sun. The sun ripens it.

It mellows and I faint, so to speak. Suddenly I have the avocado in one hand and knife in other. I cut the top off, grab a spoon, and dig out the large stone. Then I add herb and garlic sour cream. Right in the avocado shell I mix a rich guacamole.

Now on crackers this would be a treat, but the avocadoholic in me will not wait for me to open crackers.

“I don’t need no stinkin’ crackers.” I dig in, and finish it off. Oh, I reproach myself for eating it all, not saving any of anyone else, nor even saving some for after supper.

I ate it all.

I gotta go get another, no matter what they boost the price to.

Avocado's are rich in the good kind of oil for nutrition.    I have an ear infection so things are a bit stopped for me right now with the temp in the 50's and rain every few days or so.    I have had the infection many times in the past and 3 surgery for ear drum replacement.   I have a small perforation that if it heals over will cause fluid build up behind the ear and gets infected.   My appointment is scheduled for 2 weeks for my 6 mo. ear wax removal and the doctor can decide if anti-biotics are needed.   The last day I worked on installing soffits and vents went really well and I have a little more painting of the plywood I cut for them and will install the last two vents.    Then the birds and wasps can't get in and I can then get help to remove the large factory window between the cabin and new addition.    Making all the cuts either with the plywood blade or the compound mitre saw makes my skill better with the more I do.     I bought some nice shelf brackets for low cost at Big Lots.   They have a plastic removable insert that hides the screws and they are black.    With the added 8 ft. by 12 ft. floor space and lots of shelves to have plastic bins on I will be able to get things out of the way.    I enjoy doing woodwork more and more.    mark

Long time no talk. I have been busy. I LOVE avocadoes also. One of my favorite foods to eat. You need to find a dollar store up there. They have 3 avocadoes for a dollar down here at the dollar store. DELICIOUS. You might want to check it out.
Take Care. (: Jenny-Marie :)

If I could, Chas, I would willingly, nay eagerly, give you my share of avacados--and garlic, too.  Dislike both intensely--dare I say it?  But you're too far away, so I guess I'll have to leave them to someone else.

Count me in, I love 'em. I'll have to try that garlic sour cream with one. Paula

Securing cheap guacamole is more than enough justification for us to invade Chile.
