I've Gone Nuts Over Journals

I may be  hooked.  I was reading one journal a day, John Scalzi's By the Way. I followed the links in his daily articles and the Weekly Assignments.

I liked what I saw and added some to my list of favorites.  And in them I found more links, and I followed those links, too. And I added more favorites.

I began adding comments to the journals I read, and some bloggers wrote comments in my journal, and I added THOSE folks to my list.

I began doing the Weekly Assignments, The Morning Question, and the Photo Scavenger Hunt.

Now I have forty, two score, journals to check each morning.  They are fascinating, and it takes all morning to read, savor, and comment.

I have a question.  Do you think my hobby has become an obsession?

Welcome to the club!  If it is an obession, it's one that brings you in to other peoples lives a them into yours... I don't consider that a bad thing at all.  ~Sieblonde.

And so it begins... the waking up to 50+ alerts to new journal entries.  I, too, found myself reading more than writing at first.  It is addicting (like I need another one of those in my life..lol).  But I found many many friends here in J-Land that I would have never known had I not started, so cheers to the hobby turned obsession!

Take care,

Well, seems I have the same hobby turned obsession that just grows and grows with each new special journaler you meet!  Don't think it is so much an obsesssion as it is a hobby?  A club?  A way of life?  Talking to friends daily?  Got to think about it...  See if it was an obsession than I would be in trouble...hmmm.... oh, btw, thanks for stopping by my journal!

Hi Chuck,

I found my way to your journal after I saw your 'planting' in the Journal Graveyard :)  Oh my...I can so relate to your 'addictive hobby!' I'm so addicted that when my computer is down I use my AOL by Phone to listen to the alerts. Of course I can't see the graphics but at least I don't get withdrawal symptoms when I can't come online.    It's not a bad addiction to have with so many wonderful bloggers in J-Land.

I have the same addiction!  I read as many as you!  If it is an addiction than so what!  If you have the time to do it you may as well I say! There are worse things in life you could be doing, lol!  -Krissy

I don't think it's an obsession I think it's more of a curiosity to see into other peoples world. I read interesting journals all the time.
