Weekend Assignment #117 -- Chores you hate

Well, I am not fond of washing clothes, but I can't say I hate it.  It is pretty difficult from a wheel chair, reaching down into the tub and gathering the heavy wet clothes and then rolling to the dryer and putting them in, and then back for next grab.

But what I do HATE is hanging the dried clothes back in closet. They get left in laundry cart for days.... while I procrastinate.  Often I just do not hang them...but leave them on cart until I want to wear them.  You can tell when I am in that mode of operation...by the wrinkled state of what I am wearing.

Sometimes I can con the housekeeper into hanging them once I get them on hangers. But at other times, I have to steel myself for the chore, and just DO IT.

And when they are all hung, ready for wearing, I feel good.  That is odd isn't it...I hate doing it, but I am glad when it is done.

What are chores?  You mean there is something else we are supposed to do besides work, sit at the computer and go on short trips??  WOW....

Chuck, I know that money is tight, but do you suppose you could con one of the SYT's (sweet young thangs) to take you somewhere like Home Despot so you could buy an insert for your closet that would place the clothes bar about three, three and a half feet off the floor, rendering hanging of clothes that much less of a strain and chore? Or, perhaps, a bribe of a fifth of Jack Danials would convince the guys in the maintenance department to do a clothes rod lowering dance in your apartment one morning?

Just the random firing of neurons, that.

Old Dog in comment below is very logical.  But I find it easier to curse the darkness than light a light.

I feel the same way about cleaning the house.  I HATE to do it, but then bask in the warm feeling of satisfaction when it's done.  Then I tiptoe around not wanting to do anyting that will make it messy again!  Sometimes not cleaning is just a shortcut to the inevitable.

I'm not much on chores either.  The housekeeper here does my laundry for me.  However, a couple of times I've had to go down and wash a couple of things on my own (thanks to the cat).  We have top loaders.  I can fish out the items with a reacher.  Do you own one?  I've got two, one for the kitchen and one for the area where I sit all the time.  Annie
