Another Sunday Morning Breakfast

My confusion started last night.  I went to bed at ten PM instead of my usual 12:30. This caused me to rise early.  So I went to Sunday breakfast an hour early.

The dining room was dark and empty. Although it was an hour to wait before breakfast, there were old people waiting to get in.  Breakfast is scheduled for eight am but there were people waiting at twenty minutes before seven.

At least, I had time to come home and make an entry in my Dream Depository, and write this entry.

Do you like to sit outside early in the morning? That would be something I would consider if I lived in a home and awoke early. Have a nice Sunday. Paula

That's a little late to go to bed for many, unless you are a night person, which all people are not, some are morning people.
Do you have a suggestion box? Have a great day.  gg

Everyone lines up at my Dad's facility so early for meals. Not Dad, it bugs him. He likes to sit outside with coffee & we have lovely chats. ~ Mary

What in heck are they doing lining up at 6:40 if the dining room isn't open until 8:00? Surely they know by now they will have to wait? Even those with dementia and diminished capacity can grasp that info most of the time.

Seems like the management needs to do something different ... like provide coffee service and pre-packaged pastries from 6:30 on, with actual service becoming available at 8:00. It would only require one PCA to pull that off for the early birds and a minor effort by the kitchen. Pastries could be set up on a platter or two the night before. Coffee service only takes a minute to start with a Bunn coffee maker.

I imagine they are charging you folks in the neighborhood of $3-5000 per month, even with labor costs and a reasonable profit margin, they can afford this.

UNFORTUNATELY, SOME PEOPLE JUST LIVE FOR THEIR NEXT MEAL AND NO MATTER WHAT MANAGEMENT DOES OR OFFERS, WILL SPEND THE ENTIRE DAY SITTING IN THE DINING ROOM WAITING...ALSO WANNA THANK U FOR CARING ABOUT MY SITUATION, i HVENT BEEN ONLINE MUCH AND AS OF NOW, THERE IS NO NEWS AND I HAVE NO IMMEDIATE PLANS EXCEPT TO PREPARE FOR THE WORST AND HOPE FOR THE BEST
