Scalzi's Photo Assignment

John Scalzi in his blog By the Way challenges us to a photo task.  Take a picture out our window and describe what we see.

Most of the responses so far show snow covered landscapes, but this is California.  No snow.  A sunny parking lot and a Starbucks.  Isn't that what California is?  Parking lots and Starbucks.

My snowless back yard in California with Starbuck Coffee Shop

The North wind has tipped the tree to the south-east where is stands next to palm trees and green lawn.  The driveway between the lawn and the wall serves as an illegal short cut between a residential area and the throughofare. Beyond the wall is a parking lot, Starbucks, Quizno's Sandwich shop, a wireless Phone Company, and hidden by the palms, Mattressland.

It is nice to be within walking distance of a dozen fast food places, a bank, a medical center, a super-market, and a shopping mall.

Mine would show lots of snow, and trees and I'm in CA.  I know It's not normal I'm in the mountains.  Few stores and lots of trees.  Our Bark beetle problem is coming to a close, and our Lake is finally full I'm so happy about that. No more drought I can plant a nice beautiful lush yard this summer. I'm excited.  I was shocked to see Easter is in March this year.  My grandaughters already have their Easter dresses. Mandy doesn't want to be so fru fru this year, so she'l probably wear a nice skirt.  Spring is just hopping along....  Debi

I've seen lots of stars and lots of bucks, but I have never been in a Starbucks. What can I say? I'm a country girl! Paula

Oh it must be nice...and you don't have to wear a down parka, gloves, scarf, hat and boots!

It does sound like you have a great location there. Easy to get out and get a bite to eat and do some shopping.
