Green Menace

Remember that green crawling vine that was attacking the ivy in our garden?  Well, it is getting bigger and bigger.

Still no clue as to whether it is a grape, a squash, or an attack from the neighbors yard.

Here is a closer look at one of the leaves.  This leaf is about eight inches wide and eight inches long.  Any ideas?

P.S. So far I have checked pictures if Kudzu and Grape, and it looks a lot like grape, but not not, thank goodness, like kudzu.

Thanks Tammy and Garnett.

Hi, I live in North Carolina. My mom said at first grape but it looks more like Kudzu. It grows more in the south but I looked it up and it can and does grow everywhere. Not sure that's it but it sure does look like it. Tammy

It looks a lot like a Vine Maple, but I'm still looking.  Good luck!  Penny http://journals.aol.com/firestormkids04/FromHeretoThere

we had a wild grape vine that looked like that but it never did get any grapes so my husband finally got rid of it because it grew and grew and grew and we didn't plant it.... maybe the birds planted it... Sandra

DEFINITELY A GRAPE LEAF!  Kate
By the way, they had some wild ones in England too...but no wineries!

P.S.  Before it gets all ripped out or cut down, lets pick a bunch of various sized leaves to freeze and use in my art classes!

NOT Kudzu. From the size it sounds like squash or another type of gourd.

It definitely isn't kudzu.  We have lots of intruders around here but no kudzu yet.
